Be Human Collective. A new kind of corporate training and learning

Picture the scene. A dinner party (not that fancy, there’s no starter to speak of and the dessert is shop-bought). A few friends, a few strangers. Halfway through the Thai chicken curry the person to your left turns to you. You know exactly what’s coming…

‘So, what do you do?’

'Me?'

‘Yeah. Who do you work for?’

‘I work for an agency called Be Human Collective.’

‘Beep who?’

‘Be Human Collective. We, err, deliver training and learning to companies looking to...’

‘Training?’

‘Yes.’

‘Right…’

And that’s when it happens.

Their eyes, which had been alert and sharp from the pre-dinner Espresso Martini, suddenly dull and drain of life. Within 30 seconds they’ve joined an adjoining conversation about how you can never have too many ramekins.

It’s annoying. But at the same time you can’t blame them. The words ‘training’ and ‘learning’ are on a level with ‘5-day accountancy seminar’ (no offense to the numbers peeps out there). The very thought of being subjected to a training session at work was the epitome of corporate uselessness. An utter waste of time that took you away from your actual job and, even worse, your lunch.

But in a way, this dislike and disregard for ‘corporate training exercises’ is good, right? Because for people who have seen the way we do things, it’s a transformative experience. Something completely fresh and new. More about that later… First, a little about what we’re trying to do.

Making a difference, one human at a time

We want to help companies, and their people, build meaningful human connections so that they can create deeper relationships with customers and each other. Why? Well, it’s good for business. When a customer feels valued and respected then they feel happy. And a happy customer means a loyal customer. It’s good for the employee too. It feels warm and fuzzy to create a better experience for your customer. It’s fulfilling.

Employee training. With heart

That brings us to our transformative training. Forget those stuffy presentations, you’ve no doubt been to. You know the ones. Boring, endless training to people rolling their eyes and crossing their arms. Ours are inspiring, immersive experiences. Some of it is drama-based, where we create real-life scenarios that employees can relate to and invest in. Think ‘Choose your Own Adventure’ books from when you were young, or ‘Sliding Doors’. It encourages emotional depth, intuitive responses, a little nuance and empathy. Lots of empathy.

Other training and learning is virtual. Perfect for when you need to reach lots of people in lots of different places. We can broadcast live from our studios, combining the human touch with a sprinkle of digital magic.

Then there’s eLearning, allowing employees to access all the learning they need at their own pace. And if data’s your thing, then you’ll be pleased to discover a host of clever tools for tracking progress and analysing learner progress.

Much of the learning and training is driven by recognising personality types in others, and flexing your communication style to achieve better outcomes. (How do we do this? Well, it’s kind of a secret. We’d love to tell you, but that’s a whole different blog…) Whatever training you want, we guarantee it’ll be engaging, memorable, relevant and, yes, dare we say fun? Fun training. You heard it here first.

A little human connection goes a long way

And whereas people often leave a full-on training session sighing and annoyed that they have to catch up on all that wasted time, people leave ours feeling inspired, invigorated and, best of all, chatting about what they’ve experienced. Some people have even called it ‘game changing’. Or just a simple ‘different – in a good way’. And they take what they’ve learned and apply it, delivering a better customer experience, honing their leadership skills, motivating their teams… Whatever they need.

This is because we make our training and learning relevant and relatable. We do oodles of diagnostic research, and absorb ourselves into a company’s culture and vibe, to make sure that we address the day-to-day challenges that people face in their jobs.

Blowing trumpets

Thanks for reading this far. It means a lot. And we appreciate that you’re probably a bit tired of hearing from us. That’s ok. How about we hand the next bit over to some of the people who have enjoyed the Be Human Collective experience for themselves?

“I enjoyed making the decisions in each scenario to be able to change the outcome. This allowed me to put the skills I had just learned into practice.”

“You can literally see yourself in the actors – this had a greater impact than looking at PowerPoint slides.”

So who are Be Human Collective?

Welcome back. So, who are we? In a nutshell, we’re a passionate bunch of people ever-do-slightly obsessed with human behaviour. What makes people tick? Why do people do what they do? Why do some people get along like a house on fire, while others grate? What inspires people to grow? In terms of disciplines, we’re a wonderful mixed bag of talents. Learning specialists, UX experts, facilitators, actors, writers, video producers, project managers, designers… And, boy, do we love what we do. We get a kick from knowing that we’ve helped someone connect with someone else in a positive way.

Anyway, that’s enough from us. As humans we know that 1000 words is long enough to keep someone’s attention. So, to finish, let’s picture that dinner party scene again. And this time, let’s take into account a little Be Human Collective love.

‘So, what do you do?’
‘Me?’

‘Yeah. Who do you work for?’

‘I work for an agency called Be Human Collective.’

‘Beep who?’

‘Be Human Collective. We change lives by helping people make deeper human connections.’

‘Wow, that sounds awesome. Is that at work or in their personal lives?’

‘Well, both.’

‘Pretty cool. So, it’s like corporate training, but not crap?’

‘Ha exactly! We show people how to use empathy to encourage human engagement. So anyway, what do you do?’

‘I’m in crypto.’

‘Right…’

We’ve delivered award-winning training and learning to all kinds of companies, all around the world. So, if you’d like a chat, human to human, then get in touch.

Thanks,

Be Human Collective.
